Harley Says…

Our former boss at Bow Hill Blueberries, and dear friend, Harley Soltes (now retired from the company and living the sweet life), has some kind words he’d like to share.

“As you may know Pablo does not have another look other than smiling. There is no one more concerned with the quality of the fruit he sells. He culls out what most farms sell. Once the season gets rolling, his strawberries are the sweetest available in the valley, and many restaurants in the region will buy no others. As a farmer, perfection comes easy to him. And I have no idea how he handles all the projects he has going on at one time with no stress or drama.

He just does things right, with integrity…ALL THE TIME.

Pablo and Maura are unmatched as a farming pair. Pablo does the growing and Maura handles harvest, deliveries, and markets. Some say Maura is the fastest harvester in the State (she was leaps and bounds faster than anyone else that picked at Bow Hill) but her sister and mother would contest that claim. The trio would likely be the top three pickers on any crew.

They converted their lives to Organic production…both in the choosing the farms they work for and at their own berry farm. They are committed to Organic integrity not only for the health of their customers but the health of their family as they work and live in the middle of their farm.”
